Brent Brinkley, Immediate Past President presenting the Montgomery County Young Hero Award to Marshall Little

On Monday, January 17, Marshall Little, a freshman at Southmont High School, was presented the Montgomery County Young Hero Award for the Fall of 2021 by the Montgomery County Civitan Club at a special luncheon.  This award recognizes Montgomery County students for outstanding community service.

On May 15, 2021, Marshall celebrated Armed Forces Day with a project to add a loft and shelving in the Blue Star Mothers storage shed.  In addition, he assisted the Blue Star Mothers with a packing party for 50 Freedom Boxes to be sent to military personnel.  Marshall worked out the plans to collect items for the boxes and performed fundraising needed for shipping and building supplies for the project.   He received support from HHSB, Nucor, and Home Depot as well as other sources in the community for the project.

Other activities he has been involved with in the community are volunteering for Special Olympics, as well as volunteering at the Montgomery County Civitan Club Harvest Hoedown 2019 and Fall Special Needs Corn Maze Party 2020, and volunteering with Civitans at the Area 4 Special Olympic Games at North Montgomery High School.

Congratulations to Marshall Little, Montgomery County Young Hero Fall 2021.  The Montgomery County Civitan Club will be making a monetary donation to the charity of his choice in his name.
