Governor Honors Outstanding Hoosier African Americans
Earlier this week, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb honored six African American Hoosiers for their exceptional efforts across diverse fields—including education, entrepreneurship, and civil rights—at the Governor’s Awards Reception, held in conjunction with the 51st Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration. The reception acknowledges the outstanding achievements of African Americans throughout the state.
These awards recognize some of Indiana’s unsung heroes who have made significant contributions to increasing collaboration and understanding between all Hoosiers. As part of the Indiana Black Expo’s Minority Business Conference, the governor spoke to the awardees during The Governor’s Awards Reception held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
