County educators come through for United Way
Teachers are superheroes. These past two years have been some of the hardest for educators. Shifts, pivots, adjustments, quarantines have been the norm. Yet these professionals continue to give their best and pour into our children and teens, creating in-person and virtual learning environments to encourage success.
They also recognize the importance of the support systems outside of their classroom. They understand the importance of strong preschool & daycare programs, safe afterschool organizations, alternative education opportunities, and adult mentors. They have daily reminders that a family may need occasional assistance with housing or food and sometimes even intervention for a substance abuse or domestic violence situation. Our teachers know how vital the United Way in Montgomery County’s partner agencies are to this community.
So when they were asked to participate in the 2021 campaign, they put on their capes and gave. Our three school systems have always been Pacesetters. That means they run their campaigns in August to begin the community drive. This year, when the envelopes were collected, Montgomery County teachers had more than a 55 percent increase in their pledges over last year! That is unheard of in fundraising. But when superheroes are involved . . .
Please consider following our educators’ leads and give a contribution to the 2021 campaign. All gifts, regardless of size, make a difference. Donations may be sent to United Way in Montgomery County, PO Box 247, Crawfordsville, IN 47933 or online at www.uwmontgomery.org/donate.
