Mrs. Lois Ilene Largent, 89, rural Waynetown, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 18, at 8:15 a.m.
She was born Nov. 23, 1927 in Fountain County to Herley and Vergie Mae (Blackford) Keller.
She was a 1945 graduate of Wingate High School, and received a "PHT" (Putting Hubby Through) Degree from Johnson Bible College, Knnoxville, Tenn. She married Leonard J. Largent, Sr. in Montgomery County on March 29, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2013. Mrs. Largent had worked at R.R. Donnelley; Raybestos Brake Products; in the lunch room at Seeger Memorial High School; but her main occupation was that of being a Baby Sitter. She was a member of the Woodland Heights Christian Church and she attended the Sterling Christian Church; she had been a Home Economics Club member; and a Cub Scout Den Leader.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen K. Largent of Waynetown and Kimberlin R. (Steve) Keller of Indianapolis; a son, Leonard J. (Judy) Largent Jr. of Rosiclare, Ill; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Nancy) Largent, Katrina (Chris) McDowell, Justin Largent and Chloe Keller; and great-grandchildren, Julianne Largent, Gabriel Largent, Isabel Largent, Hiro Largent, Mayson McDowell and Hayley McDowell.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Eva Maxey and Hazel Redenbaugh.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home with the Revs. Ron Batts and Gary Johnson officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 21 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
