IEDC gets new EVP of Global Investments

Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers announced Ann Lathrop has been named executive vice president of global investments for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), effective Nov. 1, 2021. Lathrop most recently served as chief marketing officer for Crowe.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Ann to our talented team of executive vice presidents at the IEDC,” said Sec. Chambers. “Ann’s experience and aspirational leadership will help us solidify Indiana as a global leader, building on previous success, and engaging and recruiting talent and industry from other parts of the country and around the world.”

In her role, Lathrop will report to Sec. Chambers and oversee domestic attraction and expansion, foreign direct investment and trade.

Lathrop joins the IEDC with roughly 25 years of combined experience in business development, sales, finance, marketing and brand management. Most recently, she served as Crowe’s first chief marketing officer, where she led marketing and brand strategy and realigned the Inside Sales team deployment. She began her career as an auditor for KPMG and went on to serve as deputy mayor for the city of Indianapolis before transitioning to city controller. Prior to joining Crowe, Lathrop served as vice president of business development for ACS Inc./Lockheed Martin/Netgov.com.

Lathrop has served on multiple boards including her current roles as executive committee member of Visit Indy and board president of the Indiana Youth Institute. She is a graduate of San Diego State University and has been recognized as both a Woman of Influence and a Forty Under 40 leader by the Indianapolis Business Journal. Lathrop resides in the city of Lawrence (Marion County) with her husband, Michael Gargano, deputy secretary and chief of staff at the Family and Social Services Administration.
