Kathy Rhoda

Aug. 20, 1944 – Nov. 11, 2021

Kathy Rhoda, long-time resident of Alamo, passed away Thursday evening at The Lane House, at the age of 77.

Mrs. Rhoda was born Aug. 20, 1944, she was the daughter of Forrest Kelley and Vivian Kelsheimer Kelley. 

She attended Alamo schools, until she married the love of her life, Alfred Jerry Rhoda, Jr. on Aug. 26, 1960. Besides spending time with her family, Mrs. Rhoda had a sparkling personality and infectious joy. Mrs. Rhoda loved the Lord, and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. She participated in many church activities and sang in the choir for over 20 years. During her (44) younger years, she was passionate about camping, fishing, planting flowers and collecting just about everything. She worked at Raybestos for many years. After retiring, Mrs. Rhoda loved spending time with her great-grand babies, playing games on the computer and jewelry TV.

Survivors include her daughter, Marla (George) Beall; son, Kelly (Jessica) Rhoda; nine grandchildren, Kayla Bretney, Cody Stewart, Kelsey (Dakota) Lewis Ramey, Allison Rhoda, Alexis Rhoda, Brent Rhoda, Blake (Samantha) Rhoda, Candace Rhoda and Gemma Rhoda; and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Kirby Kelley; and sister, Theresa Cummins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Rex Rhoda; daughter, Monica (Steve) Lewis; as well as sisters, Charlotte (Kenny) Miller and Nancy (Morris) Quisenberry.

Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 15 at Calvary Baptist, 128 E. 400 South, Crawfordsville, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Services will begin at 1 p.m., led by Pastor Randy Glenn.  After the service, she will be laid to rest, with her husband and children at the Alamo Cemetery.
