Sept. 3, 1936 – Nov. 8, 2021

Larry Ray Delks went to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 8, 2021.

He was born Sept. 3, 1936 in Fountain County as a resident of Sterling.

Mr. Delks graduated from Crawfordsville High School and lived in Montgomery County most of his life. He was a partner with his father in law, Lewis Stafford with the Stafford Candy Company. He was the minister at three Churches in Florida and two in Indiana before retiring from Youngs Chapel at age 72.

Mr. Delks never met a stranger and loved to talk to anyone, provide generosity to everyone and he had a willingness to serve anyone he met with a need. When facing trials, he often said, “that makes heaven look even better and will it matter 100 years from now”. They had five children, Brad, Brian, Barry, Kelli and Traci. Each married: Brad and Bethany and have Sarah, Nathan and Caleb; Brian and Sally have Casey, Tyler, Micah and Whitney; Barry and Kim have Jordan and Wes; Kelli and John have Johnny Ray III and Traci and Tom have Grace, Kaylee, Harrison, Madison and Olivia. 2 cor 5: We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Though we sorrow in the loss, we rejoice that he is in heaven with no pain, sorrow or tears.

The funeral service will be Nov 20 at 11 a.m. with a visitation at 10 a.m. The service will be at Hunt and Sons in Crawfordsville, Ind.
