Psi Iota Xi, Gamma Xi Chapter Meeting

Twelve members attended a Zoom meeting of the Gamma Xi Chapter of Psi Iota Xi held on Nov. 1, 2021. Co-presidents Jennie Hesler and Angie Griggs called the meeting to order with the Opening Verse and took attendance. Birthdays were announced and one Happy Buck was shared. The treasurer’s report and minutes of the last meeting were shared by email before the meeting. Members said they enjoyed the social event at Buffalo Wild Wings last month.

Our chapter received a $1,000 State Project grant. The committee will be meeting soon to make plans for how the money will be used this year for local children. Jennie Hesler and Naomi Horton worked on information for the application for a Hear Indiana state project. The application was transferred to the Lebanon chapter for completion.

Committee reports were presented. Our annual fundraising campaign letters will go out before Thanksgiving. We so appreciate the support we receive from our patrons. Funds raised will go directly to our projects that benefit children in our community, such as the Summer Speech Clinic. Some patrons also contribute to the Elizabeth Backe Scholarship Fund that provides a scholarship for a student at Purdue University in a speech and hearing graduate program. Pam Karle and Angie Griggs reported that preparations are going well for the cheeseball fundraiser in November.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. Details on the location will be coming later. The meeting was adjourned with the closing verse.
