Eleanor “Ilene” (Ellingwood) Hedrick, 86, Mulberry, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021 at IU Arnett Hospital.
She was born in Alamo on Aug. 14, 1935 to the late Lloyd and Minnie (Phillips) Ellingwood.
Ms. Hedrick graduated from Alamo High School. She worked in the office at Midstates Wire and Steel prior to becoming a homemaker and helping on the family farm. She also worked in the Cafeteria at New Market and South Montgomery Schools while raising her family. Ms. Hedrick enjoyed painting, cooking and baking. She was a member of the Clinton County Home Extension Club, Eastern Star and New Market Baptist Church. She never missed an event her grandchildren were involved in. If you looked up the word Grandma in the dictionary, it would say Ilene Hedrick. Ms. Hedrick was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She was the most selfless person.
Survivors include her three children, Jim (Trudie) Hedrick, Raymond Hedrick and Brenda (Brad Jordan) Goeken; 11 grandchildren, Mathew, Karissa, Nathan, Heather, Logan, Danielle, Alisha, Mitchell, Marcus, Raymond and Zachary; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care 315 S. Washington Street in Crawfordsville on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at 10 a.m., with Pastor Tim Hester officiating. The service will be livestreamed and recorded which can be viewed on her obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
