Richard “Dick” A. Stern

Richard “Dick” A. Stern, 72, Greenfield, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021 at Hancock Regional Hospital.

He was born in Noblesville on Dec. 15, 1949 to Frank E. and Jan Carol Stern.

He was a 1968 graduate of Noblesville High School. During the Vietnam War, Dick served as a medic in the United States Air Force and was stationed in the Philippines. On July 11, 1980, he married Jane Ann Wooten in Mohawk, Ind. He worked for IUOE Local 103 as a crane operator for many years before retiring. As an avid golfer, he was a member of Stoney Creek Golf Course in Noblesville. He loved his family and spending time with them.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jane Stern; son, Bill (Laura) Stern; daughter, Amanda (Norm) Williams; stepson, Tony (Dee) Bennet; 10 grandchildren; beloved dog, Molly; brothers, Mike (Diana) Stern of Noblesville and Tom Stern of Fla.; and sister, Susie (Doug) Rohaus of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jan Stern.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
