Teresa Kay (Smith) Kader

Teresa Kay (Smith) Kader, 60, Crawfordsville, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.

She was born in Otter Lake, Michigan on Feb. 9, 1961, to the late Robert Allen and Evelyn Marie (Latchshaw) Smith.

She attended Lakeville High School and was the Manager of the Deli Department at Publix in Florida. She married John Michael Kader Sr. on June 14, 1979, in Otisville, Mich. She was a member of River of Life Church and Christ Alive. She loved playing bingo, going on cruises with her husband, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed scratching off lottery tickets.

Survivors include her four sons, Jeremy Allen Kader, Joseph (Claudetta) Kader, Chris (Amanda) Kader and John Michael Kader Jr, all of Crawfordsville; two brothers, David Michael Smith of Crawfordsville and James David Smith of Michigan; three sisters, Karen (Ed) Leiningher of Goodrich, Mich., Michelle (William) Smith-Johnson of Detroit, Mich., and Juanita (Johnny) King of N.C.; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her dogs, Stormy, Shasta, and Champ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Michael Kader Sr.; a brother, Robert Allen Smith; a grandson, John Michael Kader III; and a sister, Lisa Marie Horton.
