Elizabeth (Liz) Carey, 77, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2022 at 6 p.m. surrounded by her family.

She was born Nov. 21, 1944, in Pekin, Ill. to Bessie and Henry Mount.

Mrs. Carey graduated Delavan High School in 1962. She married Robert Carey on April 21, 1963. Throughout her life, Mrs. Carey lived in Kewanee, Ill., Waveland, Ind., Berea, Ky., Brunswick, Ga., Roachdale, Ind., Litchfield, Ky. and Crawfordsville, Ind.

She raised three boys, Rob, Duane and Tim. She was a loving wife and a great mother. Her hobbies were quilting, golfing, cooking, playing games with the family and following her three boys to sporting events. She loved spending time together as a family even if that meant she had to go fishing and hunting with them.

Survivors include her three sons, Rob (Kelly) Carey, Crawfordsville, Ind., Duane (Debbie) Carey, Brandenburg, Ky. and Tim (Misti) Carey, Sardis, Ga. She is also survived by siblings, Janet Sears, Jane Hinman, Harley Mount and Henry (Ethel) Mount. She has nine grandchildren, Brittney (Kyle) Archer, Ben Carey (Tammy Puente), Jacob Carey, Kaitlyn Sulc, Dawson Carey, Wyatt Carey, Mackenzie McCafferty, Mallorie McCafferty and Madalen McCafferty. She has three great-grandchildren, Kylie Carey, Jordan and Keagan Archer.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Henry and Bessie Mount; husband of 49 years, Robert Carey; sister, Linda Kerns; and brother, Bill Mount.

Cremation was chosen with a memorial service that will be held at Hunt and Son Funeral Home, visitation is from 4 – 5:30 p.m. with a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. for family and friends.
