St. Elizabeth School of Nursing is happy to welcome three new assistant professors
St. Elizabeth School of Nursing is excited to announce three new assistant professors have joined its faculty in 2021: Brittany Maxwell, who started on March 15; Brittany Stone, who started on Oct. 11 and Shani Berrios Hackerd, who started on Nov. 8.
Shani Berrios Hackerd, BSN, RN, is covering Concepts and working with students in mental health areas. Berrios Hackerd has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue University. She will be receiving her Master of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Berrios Hackerd most recently worked as an RN House Supervisor at Sycamore Springs in Lafayette, Ind.
Brittany Maxwell, MSN, RN, is covering Concepts and working with students in medical/surgical areas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Ball State University. Maxwell previously worked in Staff Education at Franciscan Health Lafayette where she served as a clinical education specialist.
Brittany Stone, MSN, RN, is covering Concepts and working with students in medical/surgical areas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. Prior to joining St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, Stone worked at IU Health Arnett as a nursing professional development practitioner for two medical surgical units.
“We welcome our newest team members and know that they will be wonderful additions to our faculty,” said Dr. Michelle Gerrety, director of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. “Their experience and continuing education will provide diverse and well-rounded knowledge about the field of nursing for our students.”
