Fatality Crash On State Road 32

On Friday, January 4th, at approximately 7:50 PM the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to State Road 32 and County Road 550 East reference a personal injury crash involving a passenger car and a semi tractor-trailer.

Upon arrival, deputies located a 2011 Buick LaCrosse off the roadway and into the ditch. The other vehicle, a 2019 Freightliner semi was stopped along the roadway. The driver of the Buick was identified as a 16-year-old Crawfordsville male, who was deceased. The driver of the semi was identified as Jason C. Clark, 34 years old, of Stroh, IN. He had complaints of pain and was later evaluated at Franciscan Hospital in Crawfordsville. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Due to the age of the victim, the sheriff’s office will not be releasing the name of the deceased at this time.

Preliminary investigation shows that the Buick Lacrosse was travelling east on State Road 32 when for an unknown reason crossed the center lane of travel and collided with the Freightliner semi that was traveling west. The roadway at the time of the crash was covered in snow and slush.

A crash reconstructionist from the sheriff’s office was called to the scene and the crash remains under investigation.
