The Commissioners have established a new award to recognize employees that have provided exceptional service to the County. The Commissioners will present their first awards to employees for exceptional service.

Proclamation: Week of the Young Child
Proclaims the first full week of April as the “Week of the Young Child”.
New Business
Courthouse Planning Study Report – Eric Ratts, DLZ
DLZ will present the results of their planning study to repair the exterior of the Courthouse and remodel the interior of the Courthouse.
Public Defender Contract –
Public Defender Bryan Donaldson is requesting approval of a contract for attorney Robert Poynter to provide public defender services. The contract amount is $16,000 with no limit on the number of cases.
Compensation Analysis Contract for EMA-HS Director Position
The EMA Advisory Council has recommended that a compensation consultant be hired to conduct a compensation analysis for the EMA-HS Director position.
Staff is recommending that the benefits and compensation advisory firm First Person be hired to conduct the analysis. They have experience with analyzing compensation for County government. The contract amount is $3,750.
Ordinances
2nd Reading: Ordinance 2022-8: Establishment of 2022 Law Enforcement Training Fund
Ordinance establishes new fund for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department. The Department is authorized to use the funds distributed by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute to conduct law enforcement training, including the purchase of supplies and training materials.
Resolutions
Resolution 2022-3: Declaration of Surplus Property
State law requires that the Commissioners declare property as surplus prior to its disposal by a Department. The Resolution declares some property of the Probation Department as surplus property.
