Full-Scale Active Shooter Exercise to take place at Crawfordsville High School

A full-scale active shooter exercise is scheduled at Crawfordsville High School on Wednesday June 29, 2022. The exercise start time is 1 p.m, and will conclude at 4 p.m.

There will be a noticeable increase in law enforcement and first responders in the area surrounding Crawfordsville High School. This will include a fly-in and fly-out of a medical helicopter, set up of the mass casualty trailer, and apparatus from other responding agencies.

The exercise will test the capabilities and plans of the City of Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, and Crawfordsville High School to ensure an effective and efficient response.

Crawfordsville Fire and Rescue

Crawfordsville Community School Corporation (CHS)

Montgomery County:

Montgomery County Multi-jurisdictional SWAT (CPD and MSCO personnel)

Montgomery County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Department

This full-scale exercise is the last exercise of a 3-part series funded by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS), the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) grant award amount is $106,000.00 dollars. The Montgomery County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Department wrote all three exercises to FEMA’s Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) standard.
