Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power Announces Allison Huenemann As General Manager

The Utility Service Board of Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power (CEL&P) announced the selection of Allison Huenemann as CEL&P’s new General Manager. Huenemann will assume the role starting on January 9, 2023 following the retirement of General Manager Phillip Goode.

Huenemann is a Certified Public Accountant and previously served as a Manager at Baker Tilly where she provided outsourced financial services to CEL&P for 6 years. Currently, Huenemann is CEL&P’s Controller overseeing the Utility’s financials. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from Franklin College.

“I am looking forward to continuing my work with the team at CEL&P to uphold our standards for providing reliable electric service to our customers,” commented Huenemann. “I am confident that my background in municipal accounting coupled with the wealth of industry knowledge from our staff will keep the Utility moving in the right direction.”

Allison has worked for CEL&P for 7 years and has done an incredible job. I will work closely with Allison over the next 6 months to allow for a smooth transition to her leadership, for both CEL&P employees and rate payers. This is a great day for the future of the Utility. I have total confidence in her abilities.”

“The Utility Service Board faced a difficult task in finding a replacement for Phil. With over 40 years of service to the Utility and community, he has done it all and successfully conquered every challenge he met. We found the solution in promoting Allison, an individual who is a vital part of the team and who can see important decisions through. She is looking forward to the many challenges CEL&P faces, from the expansion of our transmission capabilities, to better serving our customers, and to moving the Utility to more renewable energy in the years ahead. There are exciting times ahead for the electric utility industry & the USB is excited to have Allison in place to lead us.”
