Affirming Broom Rental Contract – Highway Department $4,200 per/month

The Highway Department’s broom, purchased in 1990, has malfunctioned.  The broom is vital for chip & sealing, paving, and other needs. The rental contract is $4200 per month from Southeastern Equipment. The plan is to rent it for 5 months.

USI Constitution Row Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation Authorization to Proceed – $7,000 Fee

USI will develop contract documents necessary to bid for the rehabilitation of portions of the concrete on Constitution Row.

USI 2022-2 CCMG Application & Contract Documentation Preparation Authorization to Proceed – $14,000

USI will assist in submitting the application for a State grant to pave 6 road segments.

New Business

Open Bids for Deck Replacement Project for Bridges 29, 205, 207

Opened bids from Milestone and H.I.S. Milestone’s bid was $1,051,165 and H.I.S.’s bid was $880,800. The bids will be reviewed by the engineering consultant.

 Approve INDOT Agreement for Mace Drainage Project

Approved agreement with INDOT for the Mace Drainage Project. INDOT’s portion is $692,800 and will be paid to the County after the County has paid the contractor.  *All upon Council approval of an additional appropriations request to be presented on 8-9-22*.

The County’s portion of the project is funded by a State SWIF Grant of $466,000 and an ARP Grant of $343,200.

The Highway Department is recommending that Old Waynetown Rd should have a speed limit of 30 miles per hour.
