The City Of Crawfordsville Announces Street Projects Through Community Crossing Grant Funding
The City of Crawfordsville was recently awarded $421,318.96 in matching grant funding through the second phase of the 2022 Indiana Community Crossing Matching Grant Fund Program to assist in local street maintenance and reconstruction projects.
“The program requires a dollar-for-dollar match of local funds and the City of Crawfordsville will be matching the Community Crossings grant with an equal amount,” said Crawfordsville Mayor Todd Barton. “This is a great way for us to stretch our investment of local tax dollars in a manner that allows us to do twice as much work on local streets than we could otherwise complete.”
The list of roads included in the City of Crawfordsville’s grant proposal includes:
- A total reconstruction of East Wabash from Wallace Ave to Mill Street;
- Resurfacing of Seventh Street;
- Resurfacing of Eighth Street;
- Resurfacing of Brook Street;
- Resurfacing of Morgan Street;
- Resurfacing of Sycamore Drive;
- Resurfacing of Thornwood Road;
- Resurfacing of Sugartree Road;
- Resurfacing of Ladoga Road from South Boulevard to CR 150 S;
- Resurfacing of Grant Avenue from Pike Street to Market Street; and
- Resurfacing of Simpson Street.
Launched in 2016, the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program provides funding to cities, towns, and counties across Indiana to make improvements to local roads and bridges. These grant dollars enable communities to help build and improve Indiana’s infrastructure.
