Gene A. Crockett

Gene A. Crockett, age 100 of Waynetown, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023 at The Lane House in Crawfordsville.

He was born in Henryetta, Okla. on Sept. 10, 1922 to the late Glenn Crockett and Colene Switzer.

He graduated from Purdue University in 1953 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked in sales engineering, was a flight engineer for the B24 bomber during WW11, and taught a diesel mechanic trade school in Michigan.

On Oct. 27, 1947 he married Barbara Bryant, who preceded him in death on May 5, 2016.

Survivors include two daughters, Carla (John) Booth of Waynetown and Cathy (Marty) Lee of Havre, Montana; five grandchildren, Betsy Lee, Jesse Lee, Barbara (Emerson) Doughty, Joyce (Michael) Reed and Leslie Booth; five great grandchildren, Aaveree, Rylee, Solomon, Chance and Ivory; and good friends, Max and Pat Morehouse.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; a son, David Crockett; and a grandson, David Booth.

Visitation is scheduled at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023 from 5 p.m. till the time of the memorial service at 6 p.m., with Pastor John Booth officiating.
