Black Balloons Mark Tragedies of Addiction

The Recovery Coalition in Crawfordsville has set March 6 aside to honor the lives lost and to support families impacted by addiction.

The Coalition has named it Black Balloon Day and encourages everyone to hang a black balloon on doors from Feb. 27 through the day of the event. On March 6, a free meal will be served at the Recovery Coalition Rec Center, 1300 Ladoga Rd. You can come for a meal from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., or just to fill out a remembrance card for loved ones lost. There will be free T-shirts and free Narcan training.

The Recovery Rec Center is a safe, supportive space that many call home during recovery. The Recovery Coalition is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that relies on donations and grants to keep its doors open.

All money raised will go toward sustaining the Rec Center and costs for the event.
