Naomi “Ellen” Luse

Naomi “Ellen” Luse, age 90 of Waynetown, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023 at Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.

She was born in Rockville on Feb. 20, 1932 to the late Frank Todd and Claire Marjorie (Nevins) O’Haver.

She graduated from Rockville High School and went on to attend Indiana State Teachers College where she received a Bachelor’s and Masters degree in education. She married the love of her life Harvey “Cocky” Luse on April 14, 1957 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 1969. In 1994, she retired from teaching at Pleasant Hill. She attended Waynetown Christian Church and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association in Montgomery County. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed music and playing the piano in her free time.

Survivors include a son, Frank Todd (Sandy) Luse; two daughters, Garth Ann Reed and Jennifer (Barry) Hickman; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Todd Fisher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Mary Meek and Frances Fisher; and a son-in-law, Michael Reed.
