Southmont Welcomes New School Board Member
On Thursday, Jan. 26 the Southmont School Board voted Mr. David Reeves as the newest member to represent Clark Township. Mr. Reeves is a South Montgomery resident, graduate, homeowner, land owner, and parent of three students within the corporation. Mr. Reeves is a graduate of Purdue University and is the owner and Certified Crop Advisor of Reeves Agronomics.
Mr. Reeves believes that education is a balance between academics, athletics, performing arts, and vocational programs. He would like to see the students at Southmont learn to be successful, responsible, and productive members of our community. Mr. Reeves plans to ensure our students receive a quality education in a safe environment.
Mr. Reeves shared with the school board that Mr. Bob Tandy, prior Southmont Superintendent, stopped him after his own graduation and encouraged him to someday run for the school board. He has kept that thought in mind and now “someday” has arrived. Mr. Reeves is now ready to accept the responsibility and looks forward to doing what is best for all students, parents, teachers, and members of the community.
