Linden Depot Season Opens Soon
The Linden Depot Museum will open for the season on Friday, March 31. The museum will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m The admission price of $6 for adults and $1 each for children includes all museum attractions.
Two special events are coming this summer.
On Sunday, June 25 the Depot Museum will showcase a European HO model railroad attraction. The museum acquired a large donation of European HO model railroad equipment, including Marklin, Roco, Fleischmann and others. Board member, Greg Reynolds, a retired Rolls-Royce electrical engineer, has worked on this project for more than two years to make the attraction an outstanding exhibit of European HO superb technology. This is a very unique display and well worth a visit to the museum.
On Saturday, August 12 will see the debut of the 3rd Annual Midwest Railroad Fair. The fair will include railroad exhibitors, railroad vendors, food vendors and much more. During the fair, the 1837 Norris 4-2-0 steam engine will run three trips — 10:30 a.m., noon and 2:30 p.m. This is a chance of a lifetime to experience 1837 railroad transportation! The train fare is $25 per person. It includes a gourmet dessert, drink and a narrated trip. Each trip will accommodate eight persons. Tickets are on sale now and are available at the museum or by calling (765) 427-3630.
