As of early last week, Versiti Blood Center of Indiana issued an emergency appeal for blood donations. With less than a day’s supply of available blood, communities throughout the state face a potential crisis as hospitals may not have the blood needed to treat patients.

Versiti provides 70% of the blood and blood products in the state of Indiana. To maintain a safe blood supply, we need to see 2,900 donors every week.

When you donate blood, you instantly become a HERO. The Blood you donate goes directly to a person in a local hospital that needs it to heal, recover, and live. This is why we love to remind our donors that their continued effort to donate blood each time they are eligible does not go unnoticed. Without you, our community wouldn’t be the same!
