Butch Selects Our Next President…Guess Who?

By: John “Butch” Dale

Well voters, we haven’t had much luck in the past forty years when it comes to electing outstanding Presidents. The last great President, in my opinion, was Ronald Reagan, who was elected in 1980 and again in 1984. Yes, yes, I know he had his faults, but overall I think he did an excellent job. He truly loved America, was a great speaker (also with a sense of humor), stayed firm in his conservative but caring beliefs, and got the country and foreign relations back on track. Since then we have had George H.W. “Read my Lips” Bush, Bill “Slick Willie” Clinton, George “Dubya” Bush, Barack “Odumbo” Obama, Donald “Orangeman” Trump…and now Joe “Lost in Space” Biden. We have only ourselves to blame.

As my Dad once said, when our corn picker broke down in the middle of harvest season, “We are in a pickle!” Today our government and nation is near crisis mode, and we need an outstanding leader NOW…or things are going to become much worse. The very existence of the United States is at stake. So what traits do we want in a President? I want a leader who has character and integrity. Someone who is highly intelligent, but has common sense…authentic, and a great speaker. Someone who has respect for others and their opinions, but has the courage to make unpopular decisions. Someone who loves America and will protect it against any group or country who threatens to do us harm.

Folks…I have found that person. Here are a few of his quotes, and you can judge for yourself:

“Respect for the other fellow is what democracy is all about. And I think respect for country goes hand in hand.”

“This is a good country. With good people in it. Good people don’t always agree with one another. Maybe the best thing we can do in this country is agree to disagree every once in a while.”

“Government has no wealth, and when a politician promises to give you something for nothing, he must first confiscate that wealth from you–either by direct taxes, or by the cruelly indirect tax of inflation.”

“Sure I wave the American flag. Do you know a better flag to wave? Sure I love my country with all her faults. I’m not ashamed of that, never have been, never will be…My hope and prayer is that everyone know and love our country for what she really is and what she stands for.”

“The hyphenated American is ridiculous…I think that any person that’s in the United States is better off here than they would be where they came from.”

“I figure if we’re going to send even one man to die, we ought to be in an all-out conflict. If you fight, you fight to win…Give the American people a good cause, and there’s nothing they can’t lick!”

“When the road looks rough ahead, remember the man upstairs, and the word ‘hope.’ Hang on to both, and tough it out.”

“I’d like to know why well-educated idiots keep apologizing for lazy and complaining people who thinks the world owes them a living.”

“Very few of the so-called liberals are open-minded. They shout you down and won’t let you speak if you disagree with them…Some people are short on ears and long on mouth.”

“Like is tough, but it’s tougher if you’re stupid.”

“A man deserves a second chance. But keep an eye on him…. Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It’s perfect when it arrives and puts itself in our hands. It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday.”

“I won’t be wronged. I won’t be insulted. I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.”

“I’ve tried to live my life so that my family would love me and my friends respect me. The others can do whatever the hell they please. I’ve always followed my father’s advice. He told me, first to always keep my word, and second, to never insult anybody intentionally. If I do insult you, you can be damn sure I intend to. And third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble.”

Well voters, what do you think? This is the type of person I want…and the country needs…in the coming years. Do you know who it is? Here is one last quote of his…

“True grit is making a decision and standing by it, doing what must be done. Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.”

I would nominate this fellow to be my President in a heartbeat. But unfortunately, he is no longer with us. Sadly…John Wayne passed away in 1979…
