2023 Taste To Feature Three Musical Acts
Study Announces Musical Line-Up
The General Lew Wallace Study & Museum is pleased to announce the musical line-up for the 2023 TASTE! of Montgomery County.
The Elizabeth Lee Band opens the day’s entertainment at 1 pm. On the TASTE! stage. Elizabeth Lee and her band members, Bobby Pugh, Jason McKay, and Jason Lineback, perform with an emphasis on clear vocals and harmonies. They perform chill covers from generations ranging from the 70s through todays music. They also include a few original songs from their album. You can check out their style ahead of time by visiting their social media pages or website. They are very excited to be playing in Crawfordsville, as Elizabeth’s family is from Crawfordsville.
On the lawn in front of the Study Crawfordsville native Emery Allen will perform from 3:15 – 4:15. Just 15 years old, Emery has been in several professional theatre productions and spent many hours in the studio recording for well-known companies. She has been highlighted on WISH-TV 8 “Life.Style.Live.”, and performed at festivals, sporting events, and other venues across the state and country. Emery is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
Playing on the TASTE! stage from 4:30 – 6:30 pm will be the energetic Midtown Madmen. The Midtown Madmen are a four-piece band that plays the hits of Elvis, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Johnny Cash and more. Their set list is a great blend of classic rock and roll, with some swing, jump and blues mixed in to satisfy every crowd! With the Midtown Madmen on stage you are promised there will be a whole lot of shakin’ goin’ on!
On the Study lawn, local band The Bumps will perform from 6:45 – 7:45. The Bumps are a Central Indiana Alternative Band comprised of three brothers. Musicians Nate, Gabe and Sam Mayberry and Lead Vocalist/Guitarist Peter Halupka. They draw their inspiration from musicians like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix, to bands like Rage Against the Machine and Sublime.
Finishing up the evening will be the outstanding Josh Kaufman, playing from 8 – 10 pm. Josh was the winner of season six of THE VOICE. After winning THE VOICE, Josh appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, made his Broadway debut as the lead in the Tony Award-winning revival of Stephen Schwartz’s Pippin, headlined the Indy Jazz Fest, hosted the Yuletide Celebration with Maestro Jack Everly and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and released an album and several self-produced singles. His music has a powerful intimacy that reflects artists like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Paul Simon, and Jimmy Buckley.

The TASTE! of Montgomery County begins at noon on Saturday, August 26, and runs until 10 p.m. At the gate, admission is $7 for adults and $3 for students. Visitors can purchase advance sale Taste tickets at the Carriage House Interpretive Center of the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum, home of the Taste; the Montgomery County Visitors and Convention Bureau on the first floor of Fusion 54 at 101 West Main Street; Milligan’s Flowers & Gifts at 115 East Main; Crawfordsville Parks & Recreation Community Center at 922 E. South Boulevard. Advance tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.
