Eight Students Complete Emergency Medical Responders Course

Personnel from Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Departments recently took part in an Emergency Medical Responders course.  The course was taught by the Crawfordsville Fire Department as part of the contract between the City of Crawfordsville and Montgomery County as part of the countywide EMS.

The students participated in the 64-hour course to learn assessment and treatment techniques to be used during medical or trauma emergencies that will stabilize patients prior to arrival of the Paramedics coming from Crawfordsville.

The eight students, comprised of responders from Coal Creek Township FD, Madison Township FD, New Market FD, Ripley Township FD, Walnut Township FD, and Waynetown FD, successfully demonstrated competency of practical skills that were established by the State of Indiana as well as passing a written examination established by the State of Indiana.

All eight students have now been certified and are serving their respective communities.  Crawfordsville Fire Department would like to congratulate all students on their success passing this challenging course.
