Kelly Sue (Jones) Steelsmith

Kelly Sue (Jones) Steelsmith, age 58 of Waveland, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Ben Hur Nursing Home. She was born in Crawfordsville on October 2, 1964 to Carl & Clela (Bannon) Jones.

Kelly attended Southmont High School and earned a GED. It was on June 5, 1981 that Kelly married the love of her life, John Robert Steelsmith. She worked at Pace Dairy for 18 years. Her colleagues will remember her as a dedicated and reliable team member. Dogs held a special place in her heart, and she showered them with endless affection and care. She enjoyed her vacations to the beach and trying new seafood restaurants.

Kelly is survived by her husband, John of Waveland; two sons, Steven (wife-Diana) Steelsmith of Ft. Myers, Florida and Matthew (wife-Carly) Steelsmith of Clarks Hill, Indiana; a sister, Sheila Sorrels of Rockville, Indiana; and five grandchildren Camden Steelsmith, Nathan Romer, Madalynn Steelsmith, Kelly Steelsmith and Jordan Steelsmith.

Kelly was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Rich, Clyde, and Denny Jones.

Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00am with Pastor Ken Green officiating. Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery.
