Famous Internet Host Converts To Catholicism!

By: Michael Bower

Last November, Cameron Bertuzzi, of Capturing Christianity, announced that he was becoming Catholic. This came as a surprise to his fans – especially since he made his livelihood through his YouTube channel. He told his subscribers that he had become convinced that Catholicism is rooted in the Bible.

Cameron is not alone. Every year, thousands of people convert to Catholicism from all walks of life. The Catholic Church is all over the world. It is the largest charitable institution, the oldest religious institution and is also the largest Christian denomination in the world. So, for many serious thinking people, the question of Catholicism is confronted at some point in their life. However, sometimes it is not easy to learn about the Catholic Church. It can seem intimidating and mysterious for people who are not Catholic. Not to mention the fact that there are also lots of misconceptions about the Catholic Church.

That is why this year at Saint Bernard, we will be focusing the month of October on common questions about Catholicism with the following activities:

I will be giving a presentation on the Biblical Basis for Catholicism. This will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 17. There will be a presentation at Wabash College at 11:15 a.m. (Baxter 101) followed by the same presentation in the evening at St Bernard at 7 p.m. Both presentations are open to the public.

Videos on YouTube: On our Saint Bernard website, we will be posting YouTube videos about common misconceptions about Catholicism.

Sunday Sermons: During the month of October, I will be focusing my Sunday sermons at mass on common questions about Catholicism.

I will be publishing articles in The Paper throughout the month about common questions about Catholicism.

So, if you have ever wondered about Catholicism or even if you have some serious issues with the Church, please consider coming to any of these events. As long as everyone is respectful, there is no question that can’t be asked!

My name is Father Michael Bower. I am the pastor of Saint Bernard Catholic Church at 1306 E Main St, Crawfordsville. You can reach me by email at [email protected] or by contacting the parish office (765) 362-6121.

-Fr. Michael Bower grew up in Zionsville. After being lackluster in faith in his teens, he had a deep conversion to belief in Christ and His Church as he was finishing high school. Shortly thereafter he felt the call to discern God’s will for his life in seminary. He has been the pastor of Saint Bernard in Crawfordsville since August of 2020. He is also chaplain to the Newman Center at Wabash College. In his free time, he likes to play sports and especially enjoys playing the banjo and mandolin in the Fr Bower Band.
