October 28, 1933- April 4, 2024

James Randall Garrett, of Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on April 4, 2024. He was 90.

Randall was born on October 28, 1933 in Norwood, Kentucky to Henry and Mabel Elliott Garrett. He graduated from New Ross High School where he was his senior class Vice President and Salutatorian.  He served six and half years in the National Guard. Randall then worked as a proofreader and art worker at R.R. Donnelley’s for 41 years.

Randall married the love of his life, Lucille Bailey on June 28, 1952, she survives. He was a 50+-year member of First Christian Church, where he was an elder, chairman of many committees, taught Sunday school, and went on many mission trips to New Orleans. Randall was a long-time committee member for the Strawberry Festival and helped build many sets for the Sugar Creek Players at the Vanity Theater. He walked many miles at the Sugar Creek Trails. Randall had a deep love for art, painting, and photography. But most of all, Randall’s joy in life came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
