Richard E. McDonald
Richard E. McDonald passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 14, 2024 at home in Crawfordsville. He was born at home in North Salem, IN on March 23, 1938 to Ervin and Icie (Morphew) McDonald. Dick married Carol Powell on September 1, 1957 in the First Christian Church in Crawfordsville.
He was a graduate of North Salem High School, Class of 1956. Dick briefly worked for Western Electric and continued his career at R.R. Donnelley, retiring in 1996. He was a lifelong Pacers fan, supporting the team when the team was still in the ABA. Dick was a fan of college basketball, especially Purdue. He enjoyed camping with his family at Sugar Mill Lake. Dick loved spending time with family and was the best dad and grandpa.
Dick is survived by wife, Carol; 4 daughters, Jacque Brant, Beth (Brad) High, Diane (Steve) McLaughlin, Donna (Randy) Hendrickson, all of Crawfordsville; 9 grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda), Bailey (Josh), Caleb (Erikka), Brenon (Sara), Bret (Kelsey), Kyle (Amber), Emily (Cameron), Kaley (Mario), Seth (Colleen); 20 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; 4 sisters, Margaret, Ann, Dorothy, Louise; and 3 brothers, Walter, Charles, and Kenny.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mace Community Cemetery. Share memories and condolences at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
