Obituary for Harland E. Flint

Harland Eugene Flint passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 14, 2024 at home in Jamestown.  He was born on October 17, 1936 at home in Warren County, Indiana to Joe and Teenza (Hurley) Flint.  Harland married Joyce Anne Redden on July 1, 1956, raising their family together for 35 years, until her passing in 1992.  He then married Janet Gick in 1993, spending 30 years together until her passing in 2023. 

Harland graduated from Hillsboro Schools, Class of 1955.  He retired from Fleetwood as a warehouse supervisor after 35 years.  Harland was also a longtime barber out of his house shop until 1990. Harland was a former longtime member of New Hope Christian Church and current member of Dover Christian Church.  He was a member of the Alamo Masonic Lodge and involved with the Shriners and Scottish Rites.  Harland was a friend to everyone he met.  He was a proud grandfather and lovingly called “Buzzard” by his grandchildren.

Harland is survived by his 2 daughters, Twila Houston and Sara (Brad) Jarvis; 7 grandchildren, Jonathan Arnold, Stephanie (Kyle Campbell) Arnold, Christina Houston, Danielle (Matt) Higdon, Nicole (Aaron) Webb, Emily (Michael Morgan) Jarvis and Jacob Jarvis; 7 great grandchildren, Kaydence, Kai, Chloe, Sadie, Brody, Reagan, Oliver; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Greg (Kristina) Hole, Brian (Angela) Hole, Shelly (Bill) Kelsey and Alisa (Paul) Gann; 10 step grandchildren; and 13 step great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joyce; second wife, Janet; daughter, Debra Arnold; and 6 siblings, Thelma Philpott, Eubert Flint, Mary Jane Watson, Herbert Flint, Kay Shoaf and Warren Flint. 

Visitation will be held on June 19th, 2024 from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating.  Burial will follow at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery.  Share memories and condolences at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
