Franciscan Welcomes Crowd at Baby Shower

Franciscan Health, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Health Department, recently hosted a community baby shower at the Montgomery County 4-H Fairgrounds in Crawfordsville.

The event welcomed 87 new and/or expecting mothers, providing education, community connections and a gift. Attendees were educated in a variety of areas, regarding the birthing process and being a mother.

The Baby Shower also provided an opportunity for current mothers, expectant mothers and their families to meet each other and network.

“The turnout for the baby shower was amazing and we are very grateful to all of our partners who helped make the event the success that it was,” said Tristan Kirby, director, Franciscan Health Prenatal Assistance Program. “Having an event like this is very important to the community. The families who attended went home with not only with a great gift, but also made connections and gained knowledge that will be a great benefit as they raise their families. We look forward to continuing to hold events like this in the future.”

The Franciscan Health Foundation, supported by generous donations from various supporters provided each family with one large baby shower gift that consisted of highchairs, portable cribs, video baby monitors, single strollers and double strollers. In addition, every attendee also received a book set, courtesy of Penguin Random House.
