HHSB Promotes Jill Pettit

Hoosier Heartland State Bank is proud to announce that Jill Pettit has been promoted to a Mortgage Loan Officer and will be the bank’s dedicated real estate lender for Montgomery County.

Jill joined the HHSB team as a Mortgage Portfolio Manager in 2020 before being promoted earlier this year. She has 20 years of experience in the banking industry, including 12 years in real estate lending. As a Mortgage Loan Officer, she will assist clients in securing financing for their home purchases or refinancing needs, providing personalized guidance through every step of the mortgage process.

“We’re thrilled to see Jill transition into the role of Mortgage Loan Officer,” stated Trent Smaltz, Chief Lending Officer at HHSB. “Her deep understanding of mortgage portfolio management, combined with her dedication to our customers and community, makes her a perfect fit to guide Montgomery County residents through the home-buying process.”

Jill is actively involved in the Montgomery County community. She leads the bank’s financial literacy program for youth and adults and has helped local businesses secure Elevate Small Business grants from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. She also serves as Treasurer for the Montgomery County United Band & Guard and Team Leader of the Stewardship Team at Whitesville Christian Church.

In addition, she is a member of Montgomery County MIBOR and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). She graduated from the Montgomery County Leadership Academy in 2019 and was a contestant in the Youth Service Bureau’s Dancing With the Stars in 2024. Jill and her husband Brandon reside in Crawfordsville with their daughters Olivia and Vanessa.
