Waveland VFD Essential Training

Last Saturday found heroes from the Waveland Volunteer Fire Department taking new and exciting steps to keep Waveland and surrounding communities safe! An all-day Essential First Aid and Training Class took place that covered topics like CPR (training and certification), AED (Automatic External Defibrillator use), basic first aid, bleeding control and medical emergency procedures. Conducting the class were two of the most professional and well versed instructors ever: Dayna Kalaba-Paramedic/AHA Instructor and Miranda Tuggie-Firefighter/Paramedic. Their presentations were interesting, informational, fluid and they never missed a beat when answering questions! If you ever need medical help, you should pray they show up! And, one more thing: The key word in Waveland Volunteer Fire Department is “VOLUNTEER!” They do not get paid! They serve 24 / 7 / 365 because they understand that a community cannot be a great community unless it is safe!
