Semi Driver Killed in I-74 Accident

A 22-year-old California man was killed when the semi he was driving went off Interstate 74 and overturned.

Satvinder Singh of Sacramento was heading east on I-74 near the State Road 32 exit around 2:15 a.m. Sunday. He was driving a Kenworth loaded with potatoes. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports that Singh was ejected from the rig. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi is owned by King Transline of Monteca, Calif.

While emergency responders were working, another crash occurred and the eastbound lanes of I-74 ended up being closed for four hours for the investigation and clean up.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports that the fatality is still under investigation and if anyone has any information, please contact Sgt. Jake Watson at (765) 362-3740.

The Crawfordsville Police Department, Crawfordsville Fire Department, Montgomery County Coroner’s office, INDOT and Wilson’s Towing were all on scene with the Sheriff’s Office.
