Summer Kicks Off With 5k

The Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery County is thrilled to announce its Kickoff to Summer celebration, happening Saturday, May 10 at the Club’s headquarters at 1001 Whitlock Ave. This fun-filled event welcomes the entire community to join in a morning of healthy activities, family-friendly entertainment, and classic car appreciation — all in support of local youth programs. The entire day is presented by C&F Fabricating.

The day kicks off with our Kid’s Fun Run. Youth ages 5-13 are invited to run a 1K course around the grounds of the Club. Immediately following will be our annual Run for the Club 5K Run/Walk. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate, with proceeds supporting the Boys & Girls Club’s year-round initiatives for area kids. Medals will be awarded for top 3 finishers in various age categories in both races.

Race Day Schedule:

• Check-In: 8–8:45 a.m.

• Kids 1K Fun Run: 9 a.m. ($5, $10 day-of)

• 5K Run/Walk: 9:15 a.m. ($30, $35 day-of)

Following the races, from 10 a.m. to noon, the community is invited to participate in the Kickoff to Summer celebration presented by Edge IT featuring FREE activities including bounce houses, tours of the Club, and games and activities for all ages. Valero Renewables will be providing a complimentary lunch. A Classic Car Show will take place throughout the entire morning.
