Women’s Legacy Fund to Learn About New Community Public Transit

The Women’s Legacy Fund of the Montgomery County Community Foundation will hold its annual education information meeting at 6:30  p.m. Monday at the Crawfordsville Park & Recreation Center, 922 E. South Blvd.  All members and guests are urged to attend and learn about the new public transportation service that will be launched in January.

Fawn Johnson, director of Crawfordsville Park and Recreation and Belinda Young, senior programming and transportation director, will explain the transition of the Sunshine Vans from a service for seniors and those with disabilities, to transportation opportunities for all Montgomery County residents. This service supported by the county and city will provide needed transportation for those going to work, shopping and appointments.

The Women’s Legacy Fund is dedicated to supporting innovative ways to improve the lives of women and children in Montgomery County. WLF is open to any person who wants to join. The philanthropic annual gifts of $300 per member are pooled to provide grants to local nonprofits working to improve the quality of life for women and children. Those interested in joining should contact the Montgomery County Community Foundation at www.mccf-in.org or by calling (765) 362-1267.
