Profile of Jacob 2023

This is the final article in a series of profiles for the kids on the JUMP waiting list. The JUMP Program is a mentoring program for the youth of our community and it is one of the many programs housed under the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau!

This name and age of this child will be changed slightly for confidentiality purposes.

Jacob is a 7-year-old boy that lives in a home with his single dad. Since his mother passed away, it is just the two of them. Jacob’s dad came to the Youth Service Bureau because he knows he has limited physical abilities and doesn’t have the means to offer his child all the opportunities he wants him to experience!

Jacob’s dad describes him as a loveable child with a great imagination. He is able to entertain himself and does well in school. His dad says he likes fishing, playing outside and with his toys. He makes good grades but could use some help with his reading.

Jacob says his favorite subject in school is English and he is also good at spelling. Jacob is very involved in Cub Scouts and has several friends in that group. Jacob stated he likes to play with his puppy, go to parks, go fishing and play with his toys. He has never been to the movies or bowling but would like to try both. If he could learn something new it would be hiking and golfing. His favorite book and movie are Batman and his favorite restaurants are the China Buffet and the Golden Corral. He would like to be matched with someone who can do fun things and help him burn off his energy.
