Beverley Jane (White) Turner, age 86 of Crawfordsville, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Brookdale Carmel Senior Living. She was born in Plymouth, Indiana on July 21, 1936 to the late John C. & Savannah (Barkley) White.
Beverley graduated from Plymouth High School in 1954 and Purdue University in 1959 with a Master’s degree in Education from the School of Home Economics. Throughout the years she was a teacher and started out teaching Kindergarten at Walnut Elementary and then Home Economics at Ladoga High School, then retired from Southmont High School. She loved teaching and loved her students.
She was a member of Calvary Chapel, Past President of the Extension Homemakers Club, and Past President of Volunteers for Mental Health. She loved everything outdoors; gardening, mowing, trimming her trees, and was passionate about volunteering.
She is survived by her children, John Hubert (wife-Fawn) Turner of Wisconsin, David Wayne (wife-Sally) Turner of New Ross, Robert Eugene (wife-Beth) Turner of Crawfordsville, and Marcia Lynn Kendall of Indianapolis; a sister-in-law, Nola White of Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and one on the way; a niece, Savannah (husband-Ron) Boege; and two nephews, John (wife-Cindy) White and Steve (wife-Nicole) White.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Patricia Ann Turner; a sister, Judy Albert; a brother, John White; and a grandson, Landon Gerald.
Visitation will be a Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S Washington St, in Crawfordsville on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 10:00am with Pastor Ivan Brown and Pastor Dave Keesee officiating.
She wanted her students to come and share the crazy stories of her and wanted to remind her students that she will return as a bird.
The service will be live-streamed and recorded which can be viewed on her obituary page at www.SandersFuneralCare.com. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Volunteers for Mental Health Montgomery County, PO Box 491, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
