Join Us For A Spook-Tacular Time!
By: Abby Morgan
It is time once again for our annual Spooky Science! We invite all families in the community to come out and enjoy our 8th annual Spooky Science event on Monday, October 23rd from 6:00-7:00 pm at the Montgomery County 4-H Fairgrounds. This event will be happening rain or shine as we host a drive-thru style event through our Beef barn. This will also be a great opportunity to learn more about what the 4-H program has to offer youth in the community. Please enter from the north side of the fairgrounds, off of Fairgrounds Avenue. There will be signs and volunteers to help direct you from there.
So what can you expect from our annual Spooky Science event? Your family will receive fun, hands-on activities that you and your youth can do at home. The first 200 participants will receive a goodie bag with hands-on activities that relate to the 4-H Mission Areas of Science. We also have other youth-serving organizations and community groups present and you can learn about their programs as well. All youth will receive sweet treats throughout the entire drive-thru. While families cannot get out and walk around, they can still enjoy our livestock stations and learn what projects, trips, and other opportunities 4-H has to offer.
This free event is open to all ages and we encourage families to still bring their youth in Halloween costumes. Youth do not have to be in 4-H to attend. We welcome all families and community members of Montgomery County to come out for a fun and relaxing evening together.
4-H enrollment starts October 1st and you do not want to miss out! Don’t delay in joining such a great youth development program that provides youth with the life skills that they need to make a difference. To enroll in Montgomery County 4-H, please visit https://v2.4honline.com or visit the Montgomery County Extension office at 400 Parke Avenue, Crawfordsville. The program fee for enrolling in 4-H is $15 per child and mini 4-H (grades K-2) is free. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Extension office at (765)364-6363.
