Foundation’s Next Two Learning Events On Tap
Montgomery County Community Foundation is hosting two types of professional development opportunities this year, a Lunch & Learn Series and a Non-Profit Learning Series.
The Lunch & Learn sessions are one-hour educational offerings that take place at the Foundation office, 119 E. Green St. from noon to 1 p.m. Local experts in various areas share information useful to nonprofit organizations on a variety of topics. There is no cost, and participants are invited to bring their own lunch. Register at tinyurl.com/NPLunchandLearn. The next one is Wednesday on the basics of grant writing. It will be led byCheryl Keim, MCCF Grants & Community Relations Director.This session will introduce the fundamentals of grant writing for nonprofit organizations, from identifying appropriate funding sources, to crafting a proposal that combines relevant and meaningful data with compelling narrative about the program or project. With thoughtful planning and good organizational skills, grant writing need not be overwhelming. While the content will focus on the MCCF grant process, information will be applicable to most any grant application. The next Non-Profit Learning Series is next week when Kim Johnson from Wabash College will help non-profits understand the basics of communication. It takes place Tuesday, March 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you are lookingfor new ways to tell your organization’s story this session might be for you. Johnson will cover the two main goals of communications; writing and photography, with a special bonus hour* for camera basics! A deep dive into DSLR photography will be offered from 3-4 p.m.
The Non-Profit Learning Series offers more in-depth workshops on various topics related to the operation of a nonprofit. There is a $25 fee and lunch is included. These workshops are held at the Hoosier Heartland State Bank Success Center. Register at tinyurl.com/NPLS2026.
