Thomas C. Witherspoon

Thomas C. Witherspoon, 63, Crawfordsville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021.

He was born Oct. 20, 1958, in Detroit, to Thomas and Catherine Hubbard Witherspoon.

He attended Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Mich. Mr. Witherspoon worked as a paleontologist, and was known over the globe as “The CrinoidKing” for the extraordinary work he did. He was a member of the “Mid-American Paleontological Society” (MAPS) for over 30 years.

Survivors include his brother, Tim of St. Clair Mich.; his son, Tim of Indianapolis; and a granddaughter, Zoey.

Cremation was chosen with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
