Sharon Annette Pigg, 58, formerly of Fountain County, passed away unexpectedly 11:46 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 in IU Health University Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born in Danville, Ill. on Nov. 15, 1963 to Donna Kay Young Pigg Orange who survives in Lafayette and the late William A. Pigg.
Ms. Pigg was a 1982 graduate of Fountain Central High School. She was employed by Aster Place in Lafayette. She worked as an Assistant Activities Director, cook and also drove the senior bus, taking residents to appointments and activities. Her personality made her a great fit for her positions.
Survivors include her mother, Donna; a brother, Curtis L. (Kelley) Pigg of rural Veedersburg; nieces and nephews, Billy (fiancé Kenzie Emerick) Pigg of Newtown, Samantha (Mitchell) Jennings of Newtown, Jason (Shy Rahm) Pigg of Newtown, Brandon and Bryson Pigg of Veedersburg; great-niece, Aliza Jennings; great-nephew, Jedediah Jennings; special friends, Michael Anderson and Tiana May; several uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, William in 2001.
Visitation hours are 1 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services will immediate follow the visitation at 3 p.m., with Pastor David Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Newtown Cemetery.
