Jerry Lee Walls, 91 of Lafayette, formerly of Crawfordsville passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette.
Born in Lawrenceville, Ill., he was the son of Earl and Aleen Benson Walls.
Mr. Walls served in the US Army 1950-52, serving in Korea. He worked at RR Donnelley and Sons in the Ink department. He was married to Thelma Mae Moody in Feb. 1953, she preceded him in death in Jan. 1955. On Nov. 19, 1955 he married Phyllis J. Lamb, she preceded him in death May 15, 2018.
Survivors include five children Judy (Brent) Gleason of Martinsville, Bob Cosby of New Ross, Sue Ann (Jeff) Kincade of Silver Springs, Fla., Mike (Debbie) Walls of Robinson, Ill., Janet (Buddy) Benford of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 11 Grandchildren Stacey Gresbach, Melissa Junkin, Kelly Rosen, Karey Verduin, Kim Culvahouse, Tiffany Raymond, Kevin Walls, Rachel Hernandez, Jennifer Matherly, Jeremy Benford, and 25 great grandchildren; one brother Kenneth Walls of Lawrenceville, Ill. and a sister Mae Engle of Marion, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Earl, Noble, Clyde and Randall; sisters Mary Lou Burgner, Wanda Dickerson and Virginia Smith; son Tom Walls; as well as a granddaughter Laura Beth Kincade Beedle.
Funeral services are scheduled for 12 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6 at Eastside Baptist Church in Crawfordsville with Steve Whicker officiating. Burial will be at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery with military rites at graveside. Family and friends may pay their respects two hours prior to the service.
