Max G. Keller, 81, of Crawfordsville passed away Friday night. He was 81.
Born July 16, 1938 in Bruceville, Indiana, he was the son of Robert Keller and Viola Thomas Keller.
He graduated from Bruceville High School in 1956 and went to Vincennes, where he played basketball. He married Sally Downey Keller on July 23, 1960 at the Bruceville Christian Church. She passed away Aug. 11, 2017.
Mr. Keller loved to play pool and enjoyed teaching others about the game. He enjoyed sports, especially IU basketball. He liked crosswords, corny humor, enjoying time with family and was a very good cook. He served in the Air Force from 1958 to 1963. Starting in 1963 he went to work at Indiana Bell and worked his way up until retiring in 1993, by which time it was known as Ameritech. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Crawfordsville.
Survivors include son, Keith Keller of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Karen Keller of Noblesville and Kathy Lee of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Eliza, Joshua, Alison and Kaitley.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Home in Crawfordsville with Pastor Darla Goodrich officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery South. Family and friends may pay their respects two hours prior to service.
