Shirley A. Faubion, 81, of Waynetown, went home to her Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 after an extended illness.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1938, in Crawfordsville, to Marion "Mac" and Edith (nee Marlow) Dehne.
She grew up on the family farm outside of Waynetown. She was a graduate of Waynetown High School, and had two years training at an art school. Mrs. Faubion was a true entreprenuar. She owned a gift shop in Chicago, IL. called "Something Different", built the restaurant "A Country Affair" outside of Waynetown and was a proud owner of a farm also. She was well known for her gardening, photography and her paintings. She was always laughing. Mrs. Faubion was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Hector Monroy; son, Royal Mark Faubion; Kathryn Faubion of Waynetown; daughters, Laura Faubion of New Richmond and Sarah (Jim) Hayes of Crawfordsville; brothers, Steve Dehne of Carmel and Dick Dehne of Waynetown; grandchildren, Graham Faubion, Andrew Thomas, Luke and James Hayes; and great-grandchildren; Lydia Faubion, Emery, Adalyn and Amelia Hayes.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bradley Dehne; sister, Wanda Utterback; and grandsons, Wesley Greene and Willie Hayes.
Funeral services are scheduled for noon on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd., Waynetown, Ind., with Pastor Ron Raffignone officiating. Burial will follow in Meharry Cemetery, Wingate, Ind. Family and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
