Franklin E. Holt

Franklin E. Holt, 86, Linden, passed away at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette 3:25 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, 2021.
He was born in Adair County, Ky. on Feb. 27, 1935, the son of the late Gilbert and Anna (Rice) Holt.
He was a graduate of Garden Grove High School in Garden Grove, Calif. and received additional schooling in Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Holt married Doris G. Ritchie at the Linden United Methodist Church in Linden on Feb. 16, 1958, and she survives. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator, and was a 50 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 103 in Indianapolis.
Mr. Holt was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church, New Richmond Masonic Lodge #604, Royal Arch Masons and American Legion Post 72 in Crawfordsville. He enjoyed camping, playing golf and wintering in Florida.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Arnold Scott Holt of Linden; a brother, Wesley (Priscilla) Holt of Parkersburg, Ind.; a sister, Doris Hundt of Santa Fe, T.X.; and three grandsons, Daniel, Jason and Caleb.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Carl Holt; and a sister, Mary Rose Beaver.
Friends may call at the Linden United Methodist Church in Linden, Ind., Thursday, Nov. 18 from 9:30 a.m. until New Richmond Masonic Lodge # 604 services at 10:45 AM followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Clint Fink officiating. Burial will be held following the funeral in New Richmond Cemetery. Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home in Linden is honored to serve the Holt family.
