Sandra Pauline (Bayless) Brown, 80, Crawfordsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 at home while surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born in Crawfordsville on Sept. 10, 1941 to the late Lester Ophar & Minnie Pauline (Brasfield) Bayless.
She graduated from Waveland High School and married the love of her life, Ivan Brown, on June 4, 2006. Throughout the years she was a Girl Scout leader, a waitress at Shades State Park and retired from Kroger’s as a cashier after 27 years. She was an Avon and Tupperware dealer and owned her own kiln from which she made ceramics and sold them at various events, including the Covered Bridge Festival at Mansfield.
Mrs. Brown’s memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary, the position of ABY leader at Freedom Baptist Church, and the Golden Girls in New Ross.
Survivors include her husband, Ivan Brown of Crawfordsville; four children, Greg (Christie) Sorrels of Lawrence, Debi Rose of New Ross, Scott (Carletta) Sorrels of North Carolina and Rachel (Alan) Metsker of Crawfordsville; her brother, Jack Bayless of Crawfordsville; three step-children, Jason (Melanie) Brown of Waveland, Danielle Brown and Tammy (John) Clark, both of Frankfort; 14 grandchildren, Josh (Emma) Sorrels, Mike Sorrels, Sydney Wilmoth, J.D. Joseph, Ian Rose, Tammy Robbins, Jill (Leo) Lara, Megan (Jason) Yoder, Elizabeth (Joe) Zuk, Sarah Metsker, Dane Brown, Triston Brown, Alizabeth Brown and Gracie Brown; 14 great-grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Kaiya, Aubrie, Atlanta, Kaidence, Kamarin, Tristan, Mackenzie, Illiana, Leonardo, Joseph, Remington and Reagan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Fern Bayless; a grandson, Brayden Metsker; a great-granddaughter, Joselyn Sorrels; and her furry friends, Callie, Roy, and the other Roy, and her favorite, Jackass Eli.
Funeral services with the Revs. Alan Metsker and Wallie Nichols officiating are scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St. in Crawfordsville. Family and friends may pay their respects from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Cremation will follow the service.
